Every year, our team works to improve the accessibility of the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival and Market. Below is some key information for people with disabilities and/or their carers.
Welcome
To ensure that your stay at the Festival runs as smoothly as possible, please let us know if you are planning to attend. Before you come, and particularly for group visits, you can contact Bertrand Rouchit (b.rouchit@clermont-filmfest.org) for any questions you may have about preparing your visit.
Getting around Clermont-Ferrand
Clermont-Ferrand is well adapted for blind people, with pedestrian crossings equipped with warning strips. It is also suitable for people in manual or electric wheelchairs. However, there is still a lot of work to be done in the city, which may complicate certain routes or access points.
Moovicité: transport on demand for people with reduced mobility
This service operates 7 days a week (including public holidays), from 7am to 11pm, in the 22 communes of the Clermont-Ferrand urban transport network.
A PRM-accessible route planner
This calculator allows you to plan your journeys from stop to stop.
Getting around the festival
The festival encourages access for all audiences, with a range of adapted facilities.
Of our 11 screening rooms, 8 have access and seating for people with reduced mobility.
All our other venues, with the exception of the Dark Lab, are accessible to people with reduced mobility.
Please note: disabled access is not guaranteed in all our screening rooms. It is best to contact us in advance for this type of request.
Audiodescription, FSL and STT (in French only)
As part of its special screenings, each year the festival presents a programme of short films in audio description for the visually impaired or blind.
diXit Interpretation will be providing French sign language interpretation of the director presentations for most of the International Competition screenings (in the Cocteau and Horizon rooms), as well as for the discussion sessions during the Micro screenings (ciné Jaude).
The Kids screenings will also be presented in FSL.
Most films will be subtitled in French and/or English (English subtitles only available in the Cocteau and Horizon cinemas).
Festival programmes where all or most of the film is either subtitled or without dialogue are marked in the catalogue with the [STT] logo: this means that these screenings are accessible to the deaf and hard of hearing.
