In 1983 writer and theologian John Hull lost the final traces of light sensation. To help make sense of his loss, he began keeping a diary on audio cassette. Over a three year period he recorded almost sixteen hours of material. NOTES ON BLINDNESS is the first time John’s original audio recordings have been heard in public. Encompassing dreams, memory and his imaginative life, the film takes a creative approach to the documentary form, excavating the interior world of blindness.
